Noi's Classroom Visit

It was a delight to see Noi's classroom and watch the teacher teaching for math class. We had a conference last week too and Noi's teacher told us she is enjoying school and does well in all the subjects.

Looking through images from 2007 of Noi for our digital photo frame and came across these photos. It was such great fun to be together with everyone....I know someday we will all meet up together again...Hugs and Kisses to you all~!!!

Thanksgiving Party~!!

Had a GREAT time last night with wonderful friends at the Thanksgiving Party. Everyone's cheer and happiness make our home warm and cozy.

7-5-3 Day with Noi

This week was Shichi-Go-San (7-5-3) Day in Japan. It was a beautiful sunny day and we went to the shrine near Hideto's parents home and the priest did a blessing. It was so interesting; my first experience. It made me very happy to pray for Noi's health and happiness and safety. But I had no idea what he was really saying - LOL~!!!!

Noi's tomatoes and Hideto's Green Beans

Noi planted and grew her first tomato plant this year and Hideto planted this type of green bean for me, since it's my favorite. This week we had a great turn-out~! And Hideto made Noi and I this cute omelette...

Noi's Summer Project - Picked for Exhibition

This summer Noi's school required students to create a summer project, so her and Hideto studied about beetles, the Japanese rhinoceros beetle. The captured some and feed them and studied them together, then made a sculpture about their life. Noi was picked by her school to be in the project exhibition at the main city cultural exhibition hall. Noi and Hideto were so happy~!!!

Summer Fun - Our Town Festivals and Fun~!

Our town had a festival yesterday and it was so fun. During the day kids activities and night for everyone - music, dance, games~! Noi with her classmates - she has the pink light-up ribbon headpiece.

Summer Vacation - doing it like a tourist

So many fun things to do in Akita~! We decided to try it like San Fran style - hit the aquarium, then off for an ocean boat ride. It was a blast....Went with Noi's friend from school and her mother. Kids were soooo happy...

Father's Day - Roses, Sculpture Garden, Sake

Father's Day was super fun. Gave Hideto a gift box of locally made sake and went to a rose and sculpture garden with Hideto's dad, followed by a lovely dinner.
